South and South EastSWO provides direct services to Oxford, Reading and London Paddington. This will enable use by passengers of Heathrow Express services to/from Heathrow Airport. Windsor is also served from Slough between Reading and Paddington.

South West & WalesFor the first time since 1967 passengers wishing to travel to the South West (Devon & Cornwall) will no longer have to travel via Birmingham and change stations amounting to a near 50 mile detour. Worcestershire Parkway would provide a direct connection.

The South Midlands & BirminghamSWO would connect Evesham, Honeybourne and Long Marston with Stratford upon Avon, Solihull, Henley in Arden, Shirley and Birmingham with direct and much faster services. At times of peak traffic flow the train would be much faster than the car.
